In Science News October 28, 2017, on page 14, there appeared a first report of a "quantum video chat [that] links Asia [and] Europe." In the article, a quantum video link is established riding on light particles. That probably sounds mundane, but, in fact, when you add the usual quantum physics attributes such as "instantaneous (think concurrent)," "strange," "teleportation," "unlimited distance" you get a better idea of what this experiment represents. Much like the Quantum Death Machine in QUANTUM DEATH (Savant 2017) by A. G. Hayes, with Raymond Gaynor (me), the The object, in this case digital information, momentarily appears simultaneously in two different locations before it "solidifies" in one or the other location. And because of this "strangeness," quantum key distribution can be used to encrypt the information (or object) using an outside "key" that researches tout can't be broken.

In effect, it breaks the laws of traditional relativistic physics, being simultaneous and therefore faster than the speed of light, or, maybe outside of time, who knows? It's really not a huge leap from transmitting information to transmitting objects (think 3-D printers of today). So is QUANTUM DEATH, with its electronic fluctuations in space-time, bitcoins, cyber espionage/warfare and Quantum Death Machine science fiction or reality? I like to think that what one person can imagine, another can create. Hunker down with Cerebrus agents Susan Koski, Joseph Koski and newest character, Kate Keenan of FINDING KATE (Savant 2016) as they try to figure out what's rapidly bringing the USA to its knees and how to stop it.
