I've been wanting to get back to moon, planet and star gazing, but ever since our two hurricanes, Madeline and Lester, it's hot and humid. Don't believe me? Look at this snapshot of the moon over Waikiki I took recently.

This weather aggravates my asthma no end, and so, I've continued writing cloistered in my condo, with the windows closed and the air purifier on. What happened to paradise, you ask? It is a paradise; however, everything here flowers and pollenates during the hurricane season, and with the winds constantly shifting, we get VOG from the Big Island volcano. Pele, how can you do this to me? I done my yearly obeisance, offering a small sample bottle of your favorite gin to the volcano. I've even written and dedicated poetry to you! I mean how many of folks have gone so far?

On the other hand, the island has never been greener. Diamond Head, usually looking like the brown hills of California, is brilliant green. The Plumeria flowers (ah, so sweet smelling -- ah-choo!) are everywhere in bloom. This mountainsides are covered in passion fruit and ginger blossoms.

Looking forward to a little less humidity and cooler temperatures. I think I'll go to the beach.
